Are here about two weeks ago! Was a refreshing change from a normal Asian restaurant. I ordered the beef with broccoli and it was a little on the spicy side but that's what made the dish even more tasty. Overall good experience!

My wife and I love the Thai food here. Almost tastes as good as my Thai friend's mothers.. Almost!

Fresh vegtarian food with a spicy kick

Very disappointed. We arrived and were immediately sat at a booth. And were ignored. If say the service was horrible, but after waiting without any human contact for over 15 minutes, we got up and left. Never again. Needs new management. Others however who arrived after is were immediately seated and served drinkers and appetizers.

I ate here on a Sunday evening with my family. We had Crab Rangoons as an appetizer. They were light and the filling was creamy and had a bit of scallions in it. For the main dish I had the Shrimp Curry. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of shrimp that was served. They didn't have tails - I appreciated that! FYI - This is a red curry, not a green curry. The service was good and the food came out fast.

This review is from a Thai person. When you grow up eating home cooked thai food, your only expectation is that it should taste just like how mom cooked it.... except it didnt.. at all. This place is nice but there's no authenticity in the dishes. Presentation was nice but just not like how mom did it.

This place was great. I had the Mee Grob appetizer which I really like but can rarely find. I also enjoyed the chicken (red) curry which was very creamy and flavorful. I ordered medium heat and wanted it a little hotter which was easy to do since they provided two options on the table to adjust the heat to your liking. The entire meal was fantastic, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. The service was excellent as well. The place is also very well decorated. Someone invested a good bit of time and money into the decor and the results really look sharp. Even the bathroom looks great.

I've always had a pleasure experience dining at this establishment. It is a tad on the pricey side, but I think it is more than worth it. The food is made to order so you can add or take away whatever. Great service and amazing food!

6 adults in our party. 5 different traditional entrees ordered. All were good. Waitress polite and attentive .

Ambience: very nice. Great date place. Wind chimes are a nice touch. Beautiful decor. Service: average/good. Family friends were visiting the management so they were a little distracted but the servers were mostly prompt. Wrong salad dressing on salad. Speed: moderate. Made to order however. Entree: Fresh vegetables. Crisp and clean. Wife had chicken green curry and my son and I shared Two Friend prawns which were not that rich in flavor. I went 3/20/14 in the evening. My wife said that she was here a month ago and it was much better then. I expected more. For 30 dollars for two, it was doable but not something that makes me want to come back to this week.

This is for a visit on Feb 21st. I would give this no stars if possible, for the service. Similar to the other reviewer, we were also ignored. Our drink order was taken when we sat down, and we were there at least 15 more mins and no one came by to get our order, but they kept walking by to clean off tables or to go to the front desk. Finally we had enough and walked out. If their goal was to make us feel uncomortable and leave, mission accomplished !

My wife and I have eating here many, many times. Without exception, the food has always been fantastic and the service superb. The reviewers that had poor service should first look at their possible behavior before condemning the wait staff. I recommend this place.

What an amazing place! Beautiful deco great staff and the food out of this world! Highly recommended

Very nice atmosphere, food is OK. Yummy, but nothing spectacular. Prices are a little higher than some of the better Thai restaurants in the area (see: Zen Bistro), but each time I have been there I have needed to take quite a bit of food home. The atmosphere is a bit "quiet" so I wouldn't recommend bringing your children here if you don't have to (I have had to in the past and was quite embarassed by the moderate amount of noise they were making).

Ordered the tofu red pepper. It had no flavor and quantity was just enough for a 6 year old. The brown sauce it was served in was tasteless and odorless:) This was some of the worst Thai food I have ever had.
(1)Michael B.
Excellent service, excellent food. Asked for something gluten and dairy free. Ate red curry shrimp with rice.

For many customers, Thai Erawan is probably exactly what they're looking for--especially for the mostly older crowd of locals who seem to be the main client base for this restaurant not far from the beach. It's Thai food cooked for American tastes, and that said, it is Thai food that is too sweet, too salty, and not hot enough (even if you order it "hot") for those like myself who enjoy really authentic Thai cooking. It is not Thai food as you'd find it in Thailand, Laos, Singapore, or elsewhere in Asia, but for Americanized Thai food, their menu is rather varied and they seem to offer what people want. Moreover, the waitress informed me that the chef will make curries "the Thai way" if you explain to the waitstaff that this is what you really desire. When I complained my "hot" green curry was not very spicy, the waitress quickly brought me more fresh peppers and also dried pepper flakes and tried to make things right. These seaonings did in fact help matters a lot, too. Had I known to request the chef make it "the Thai way" to start with, things would have gone better I suspect and I will certainly give them another try. The interior is very well designed, romantic even, and the waitstaff are attentive and obviously care that their customers are happy. Those are a good start to a great restaurant and the other patrons seemed to be locals who were very happy with their food and came often. To compare, I would certainly say Erawan is as good or better than Zen Bistro.

Happy Valentine's Day! Need a reservation to eat here tonite!

This tranquil restaurant tucked in Granada Plaza is a surprising little oasis. From the welcoming fountain and dark wood furnishings to the warm and attentive service, dining at Thai Erawan is thoroughly relaxing. During a recent visit we ordered Beef Hot Pepper, tender slices of beef sautéed in chili paste with bell pepper, onion and basil leaves. At "American hot" (as opposed to Thai hot) the dish had an enjoyable heat. We also sampled a relatively new Seafood-Noodle Soup: a sizable entrée served with a salad. First about the salad: A crispy iceberg wedge with peanut dressing. In our experience peanut dressing can be wildly inconsistent, so much so we feel we're rolling the dice whenever we order it. But that day, at Thai Erawan, we were rewarded for our bravery with a version that was incredibly silky and, dare we say, perfectly balanced. Unfortunately the soup didn't follow suit. While we enjoyed the noodles and flavorful broth, the seafood (shrimp, calamari and scallops) was flavorless and a bit tough. We found the seafood to be of similar quality during a previous visit so in the future we'll stick with land roaming or vegetarian options. Lunch specials, served with soup, a spring roll and jasmine rice are a good value and are available 7 days a week. Hot Pepper Beef (lunch) $8.50 Seafood-Noodle Soup $12.95

Everything was very tasty. Waitress very knowledgable. Will definitely go back to try a few more things.

I always compare Thai restaurants to my two all-time favorites: Char's in Tempe, AZ (no longer in operation, but had no comparison for over 15 years) and Pattaya in Penfield, NY. The Thai iced tea here is as good as theirs, but nothing else quite compared for me. The crispy spring rolls had too much wrapper and not enough vegetable matter inside. The tom kha gai soup didn't have enough flavoring from galangal root and lemongrass, so the coconut cream was too strong. My nam sod was good, but would have been better with more ginger root and other Thai seasonings. However, my husband's panang chicken had the best flavor he's ever had (somewhat peanutty instead of overly coconutty), although it was skimpy on vegetables. Finally, we passed on dessert because they surprisingly do not offer sankaya (sweet sticky rice with custard) or even sweet sticky rice with mango, two desserts that seem to be staples at other Thai restaurants we've been to. I will say that the service was excellent and the decor and atmosphere are very nice. In summary, nothing was bad; it just wasn't as good as I'd hoped for.

Great atmosphere! Looks like they invested a good amount of $ on decor/presentation. Friendly staff. Service is great. Clean bathrooms. Presentation of food is outstanding. Restaurant style thai cuisine. I feel that the fish sauce used in certain dishes is overpowering. (pad thai, basil chicken) Appetizers are all good. Prices seem steep for the size of the portions you get. Give it a shot

What an amazing find. My parents eat here once a week because they live near by. I took my mom for mothers day and I was very impressed. I had soft shell crab and scallops with Chili Jam, My wife had a seafood combo with lobster, shrimp, scallops and squid, my parents each had they fish with plum sauce. Everything was really tasty my only complaint would be my wife's lobster tail was a little overcooked. All the sauces were on point and the rice was cooked to perfection. They serve beer and wine, but no liquor. They have a really good mango juice and they will add sake if you want. They had a huge vegan menu, for all of the meatless folk. I wanted to have the mango sticky rice for dessert by I didn't have room The atmosphere was better than your average strip mall restaurant. When I visit my parents in Ormond Beach we have a new go to place.

Thai Erawan is mediocre Thai restaurant in a mediocre town. The decor is nice enough, but waitresses are a little rude and completely inattentive. I started with the Thai Sweet Iced Tea, which was so sweet that I took one sip and made a sour face that freaked out my waitress (I find it's always good to freak out the servers once in a while). She brought me a coke. For the entree, I had Pad Thai with Beef. I'm a pad junkie, in fact I would easily eat it every night for the rest of my life if it didn't make my ass the size of a couch. The Pad Thai here was too sweet and the flavor was off-putting. My friend had Peppered Beef, and the quality was pretty equal to Chinese takeout. The shining star here was the Coconut Ice Cream. My friend ordered it and paid for it, and I ate a significant portion because that's what friends are for. It was creamy and wonderful and orgasmic. If you like mediocre, oddly seasoned food, you have one of two choices: Thai Erawan or a Chinese buffet. I think your wallet knows which decision you should be making.

Went in for lunch and the restaurant was slightly empty but servers were attentive and greeted us at the door. I had a classic , Pad Thai with Tofu and my wife the Tofu Red Curry with rice. Our server asked what spice level we wanted, I chose Thai hot and my wife wanted mild. Their Thai Hot is not for everyone but if you like a kick it seems like the one. It wasn't evenly distributed on the noodles so every other bite would be hotter. Her dish was kind of sweet due to the coconut milk so maybe that dish needed more heat to balance it out. The menu has a vegetarians corner and plenty of options the meat can be replaced with Tofu. Noodles were awesome and veggies fresh. We like the small pieces of watermelon and pineapple she brought out with the check, nice touch.

The food here was good. It was recommended from the Holiday Inn we were staying at. The food did have a lot of ginger in it, I think they over did it a bit. The service was good when we first sat down, and then it just fell off. We had to ask different servers that were walking by for service. Alex was our original server, and by the end we had 4 different servers. It would have been acceptable if they were packed, but packed they were not!

I have had a desire for Thai food for weeks, so while I was in Ormond Beach I decided to go to Thai Erawan on Granada Blvd Beachside. You need to go to! What a great experience. I was greeted when I walked in the door. My waitress was friendly an attentive and my food was fabulous. I don't think I left a single rice grain on my plate. Besides the food being outstanding I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I entered stressed and left totally relaxed. The lightening is just right and they play a very mellow background music. I will definitly go back. If you are a resident or a visitor to the area, take the time to eat and relax at Thai Erawan.

Try getting there for lunch. The food was delicious, 12 for the Chicken Panyang because of 15 minutes (I got there at 1515)
(4)Ed L.
Great Thai Food! Try the Prig King Chicken for lunch extra spicy, you won't regret it. Best Thai food in Ormond Beach!
(5)Tiff J.
A little pricey, but all in all, pretty good. I had chicken pad Thai, my friend had chicken curry, both were yum o. Service was great, we'd totally come back.
(4)W. J. S.
Very nice seafood pad Thai and red shrimp curry. Order things hotter than you like them, as both dishes were a bit milder than desired.
(4)R C.
One of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. Ordered beef satay to start, and the chicken curry and chicken pad see ew for entrees...both as spicy as possible. The food was heavenly. If I wasn't so full I would have definitely ordered dessert. Everything on the dessert menu looked to appetizing! Overall an enjoyable experience here- would definitely return in the future. My only suggestion for Thai Erawan is to offer fresh coconut juice on their menu!
(5)Shannon G.
Mixed vegetable with tofu red curry was the best we have had. Perfect for Vegans and vegetarians. We will for sure be back during bike week this year.
(5)Jane S.
The lunch specials were a bit pricey, but absolutely delicious. Good service. Try the "amazing" peanut sauce!
(4)Stacey L.
Very vegetarian friendly. You can get just about anything with tofu, and they had some veg appetizers as well. I always have thai iced tea when out to a thai restaurant and theirs didn't disappoint. Had the veg spring rolls which in my opinion where a little overlooked, but not bad. Also had the cashew nut tofu, and the boyfriend tried the chicken pad thai. Not the best thai I've had, but it's was still tasty. Our server did a great job as well.
(4)Jason D.
Great food, spiced to your liking. not too expensive. Friendly and informative staff. Good service. If you are in Daytona, you could do worse.
(3)Franklyn T.
My experience at Thai Erawan was pleasant. My gf and I really liked the decor and setting. Our server was courteous and friendly. The only downside was the scallop chilli house special I ordered was undercooked (scallops were not cooked long enough). The prices are more for the ambiance than the food I would say. Overall average experience.
(3)Stacy S.
Food is excellent. The music is almost unbearable. At times I felt like I was in some sappy movie like Terms of Endearment. Othertimes like in a snoozack Chinese buffet.
(4)Ray S.
Fantastic lunch specials as well as a full dinner selection menu. Everything I have tried here has been good, fresh and served up by very attentive wait staff. The entrees are well presented and are as delicious as they look. If you like your Thai dishes on the spicy side, be sure to ask for "Thai Hot". For everyone, else there are options that range from no heat to standard "hot".
(4)Mike W.
They will make anything on the menu vegan. They will also make you something not on the menu. The service is good too The booths are real comfortable Great food they will make anyting on the menu vegan. They wlll also make you anything not on the menu. If you are a regular they will call iwhatever you get by your name. The bathrooms are spotless

When the waitress came over to take the order she looked at everyone except us. She never came back to refill waters and the food took 45 minutes. AS she set down the food, I reminded her we had no silverware. She laughed said oh sure and walked away. She then visited another table and had a grand all time laughing and joking. I had to ask someone else for utensils. The fried rice had no flavor and the Panang chicken, which I asked to be light on the spiciness, was very hot. As we sat with our meals, we noticed a lady come from the back several times and use the register. She had one sanitary glove on her left hand and used it to touch the register and remove cash as well. After which she returned to the kitchen and touched plates and assisted in handling food... YUCK!!! The waitress never came by to ask how it was until we stopped eating and I had to ask others for refills on water while our waitress socialized the night away. I noticed several other tables with equal looks of disgust as they exited as well. Very disappointing for such a nice looking restaurant Needless to say I shall not return.

Overpriced restaurant with small portions, average taste, and pretty poor service. Will not return.

Enjoyed a lunch with my sister on January 26, 2011 - red curry chicken with a side of chicken rice soup & spring roll w/ dipping sauce. Broth was flavorful without being too salty - flavors were sharp and correct - I added a tiny bit of hot sauce to the curry and it was delicious. Red and green bell peppers were properly crunchy as were the bamboo shoots. Only complaint - pineapple was mushy. Wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive - the attention to interesting serving plates was appreciated. Prices are very reasonable - will definitely return next trip ! OK - have read all these reviews and heard people talk about this place, telling us we MUST go try it.. Well tonight we did.. It is indeed a very beautiful place with wonderful ambiance, decor, fancy menus and the food presentation is TOP NOTCH. We arrived at 6pm and there were only about 6 other people in the restaurant, so it was not yet very busy. But here is our honest input. Our server was very friendly and personable, but that is where it ended. We had to ask if they had traditional non fried Shrimp Spring rolls and they said yes, but it is not on the menu, so ordered that as our appetizer, as well as Shrimp Pad Thai and Panang Chicken Curry and 2 beverages. The bill came to $39.00 The Shrimp Roll was OK and the dipping sauces, one peanut based and one sweet soy sauce based were quite overpowering for the fresh ingredients and herbs. We received "Chicken" Pad Thai and not what we ordered SHRIMP Pad Thai - but went with the flow. It was tasty, would rate it about 7 out of 10, but needs more crushed peanuts and is lacking tofu, which would increase the rating. The Panang Chicken Curry was quite disappointing, having it's main fresh herb & vegetable ingredient being only fancy cut Zuchinni. It was very lacking in Coconut Milk and heavy with Red Curry Paste and did not have any lemon grass, ginger or other wonderful fresh herbs that make Panang a culinary treat. We had to ask for more rice, as the tiny portion is not enough for 2 people to share. Also, ordered our food medium spicy, which they did quite well, but had to sit there with empty beverage glasses until we flagged down our server to obtain some relief for our tingling sensations. It is quite pricey compared to other Thai places in the area, but of course, we both agreed it is beachside and they have to pay for all that fancy decor and those orchid garnishments. But the food and service is not enough to keep us coming back for more. We have tried all the Thai places from Palm Coast to Daytona and still believe that Kob Jai in Holly Hill has the best tasting food, with plenty of on site grown herbs. It is not a fancy place at all like Erawan, so do not go there if you want a fancy or romantic dinner - stick with Erawan.. But if you want to try what we believe to be the best Thai around, then try Kob Jai.. it will also cost you less at Kob Jai, but then again you are not paying for fancy ambiance..

First tried Erawan last year on passing through Ormond Beach. It was a revelation. Delicious, delicately prepared fresh food; seasoned to taste. Looked forward to a return this year. It was worth the wait. Once again, the varied menu, fine cuisine and beautiful presentation were spot on. I had green Curry vegetables with a heavenly cream sauce, not heavy and perfectly spiced ( Hot, not thai hot). Son had shrimp with noodles. The shrimp were sweet and tender, vegetables crisp and bright. The noodles just right. Dad had the duck breast. So crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth inside. He practically licked the plate..

My best friend and I were in town for two nights for the New Year's holiday as part of our annual girl's weekend get-away. We discovered this place on Yelp after looking for Chinese and were so glad that we did! The food was great and I loved the atmosphere. My dinner was recommended by our excellent waiter Alex - from the Thai beer to the recommendation of a larger entree to split between my guest and me. Everything was fabulous - except for one odd thing - which could have been a deal breaker. Christmas music (the obnoxious over the top - think Pavarotti and Gene Autry meets the Chipmunks) was playing on their soundsystem (loudly) and on Dec. 29! Um, Christmas is over - and the fact that it took two polite pleas to our waiter and we had to actually ask the owner to please change it to something more pleasing because we were going to get our food to go - despite the beautiful atmosphere and our wonderful appetizers. The owner was very receptive and polite but it was very surprising that it took us to that point to have the music changed - especially when we and one other couple were the only ones in the restaurant. All of that said - I can't WAIT to go back and bring my entire family! It's a great place for a romantic dinner - the booths are comfy and intimate on the side, and there's plenty of space for a formal family dinner. If you do anything, go see Alex and tell him that Kat and Kelley sent you! :)

Yummy yummy! Came here for lunch and the service was fantastic. They have lots of veggie dishes and do believe in serving actual spicy food! The rice noodles with snow peas dish was tasty - the snow peas were crisp, the noodles cooked just right and not mushy.Interior is nicely done and very welcoming!

This is the best Thai place I've eaten to-date. Nice clean atmosphere, friendly service, and *great* food.
